Is ATandT stamping on customer rights?

The recent 8000 words service agreement sent to the customers by cell phone service provider AT&T has largely met with negative response. Among other things the new service agreement states that the customers will be given a 30 day notice to announce price increase of their cell phone service plans, only if the price increase is ‘commercially reasonable’. To view all the terms and conditions relating to their service the customers have to download a separate guide book that runs to 2500 pages. And if they are still unhappy with their cell phone plan, they may well leave.

State regulators have already taken the issue into hand and are looking to see if AT&T is violating customer rights. AT&T has been defending its action stating that it ‘provides customers with more direct information on their rights’. So before you choose a service provider it is better that you compare cell phone plans and choose the right one that meets your needs.
