We live in wireless world and wireless technology is everywhere all around us. About eight years ago, there were a slew of gadgets that were starting to clutter our computers as it became quickly apparent that having 10 different accessories plugged into your computer didn\'t make a whole lot of sense. Thus, people started looking for alternative wireless technologies to remove some of the clutter. The most popular of these technologies is known as Bluetooth.

Bluetooth technology is very similar to USB, only it is wireless. It allows machines to quickly connect and start using devices that you don\'t have to plug them in all. It uses a universal connection system standard, so the writing device drivers is much easier. Now we find Bluetooth headsets connecting to sell phones and cell phones connecting and syncing to computers, all wirelessly everyday.

However, while wireless can be a big advantage. It\'s not always the best technology for every application. Some things just work a little better, using wire technology. Here are some of the advantages and disadvantages of Bluetooth technology.

Advantages:

Bluetooth is now really popular and keeps getting more popular as time passes by. It is now widely used across countries and almost by everyone. Companies are taking the benefit by using this in their new and future products to make life much easier for everyone. You can use Bluetooth on laptops, cell phones, music players, headsets, printers and a lot more other products.

You do not need to know much about technology in order to run Bluetooth. Bluetooth makes it easy to just connect the device and use it. If you want to use a headset with your cell phone you to sync them and it works.

It allows you to stay cord free and do not have to worry about finding the correct place to connect that extra long cord. Avoid having to have a ton of cords wherever you go. You can also go to the internet wirelessly with this feature when you\'re out somewhere outside of your home.

Disadvantages:

Bluetooth will take more battery life, away from your device. This occurs mostly on your cell phone but also occurs in other technology such as music players. You\'re using up more battery power when you leave your Bluetooth enabled on your phone all day.

Bluetooth is not the fastest connection speed, of all wireless technologies by any means. In fact, for transferring files and can be downright slow. Where Bluetooth really shines is when relatively sm need to be streamed across a short distance. For example, playing an MP3 file or using a wireless mouse or keyboard are great ways to use Bluetooth, but transferring a large file is extremely slow and is a terrible use.

The as with all things Bluetooth has ups and downs, however, freeing yourself from wires can eliminate a lot of mess and clutter that seems to be all around us. Bluetooth is here to stay.
