Michigan has been one of the states where the volume of foreclosed homes remains high. In fact, the state is ranking 6th in the list of states with the highest foreclosures in the US. However, in the last few months of 2008, foreclosure activities show signs of slowing down, an indication that the housing sector in the state nears its bottom and would soon rebound for recovery.

Of the Michigan foreclosure homes, majority are repossessed by lenders, while several others are still in the long process of foreclosures. Only a few of the homes are up for sale through direct sales and auctions. Still, there are just more than enough Michigan foreclosure homes available. Homebuyers and investors will still enjoy their purchase sprees for quite some time.

The largest city, Detroit, in the past decades, had enjoyed strong employment and numerous business opportunities because the biggest car manufacturers are headquartered in the city. But as the housing industry slumps and the US car industry gets weak, employment and per capita income in the city has been declining. Thus, many households get further indebted and are forced to foreclose homes. The increasing number of Detroit foreclosure homes contributes greatly to the rise in number of Michigan foreclosure homes.

Home buyers and investors are always delighted and attracted to Michigan and Detroit. This is because foreclosed homes for sale get cheaper amid high inventory. Before home prices rebound and Detroit foreclosure homes get expensive, you should immediately check out foreclosure listings and get on to tendering bids to purchase any of the Michigan foreclosure homes available.
